After a disappointing loss at home to Sandringham the previous round, the Bendigo Braves struck back brillinatly in the men’s contest on the Hobart Chargers court.
Bendigo scored a 96-85 victory in the crucial contest.
Bendigo led 50-41 at half-time and continued to respond to the Chargers challenge.
Josh Wilcher, 22 points; Michael Vigor, 20; and Zach Atkinson, 16; were in superb touch for the Braves.
The night’s play began with an eight-point victory for Hobart in the women’s match against the Bendigo Lady Braves.
Cayla Francis, 23 points and 12 rebounds; and Kathleen Scheer, 20 points; led Hobart’s charge to victory.
Best for Bendigo were Lauren King, 18 points; Lasondra Barrett, 14; and Alex Bunton, 9.
Saturday night’s matches are in Launceston from 6pm.
