Twenty-eight students will spend 13 days touring the country, as part of a trip to learn more about Chinese culture and language.
Year 11 student Rhapsody Anderson said the trip to China would be a chance to tick off one of the goals on her bucket list.
"My goal in life is to travel the world," she said.
"I am looking forward to the cultural side of things the most.
"Going over there and seeing how they live their day-to-day life and their food.
"We will also get to see the buildings, which are very futuristic.
"I am very excited."
Miss Anderson said she was also looking forward to getting to know more of her peers.
Students will visit the Forbidden City, Great Wall of China and the Chinese Navy Museum among other attractions.
Assistant principal Linda Lyons said the trip was a chance to bring Australian and Chinese students together to build long and lasting friendships.
She said students would also be able to hone their linguistic skills, with students offered two hours of language lessons each day.
The trip goes from July 6 to July 18.
