Castlemaine tournament hailed a success, says CDNA

MORE than 50 teams from across the state took part in the Castlemaine and District Netball Association's netball tournament on Sunday.

Players ranging from eight years old to 15 years of age competed at the Wesley Hill Recreation Centre in Castlemaine.

The tournament is held annually.

CDNA's Priscilla Harris said it was a fantastic day.

"We had some nail biting, exhilarating games," she said.

"There were many examples of brilliant team work and great sportsmanship on and off the courts, and the quality of players was outstanding."

In the under-13's final the Sunbury Sonics took on Wyndham.

Sunbury won seven to four.

In the under-15's reserves final Fusion had a big win over the Sapphires, winning 18 to zero.

Wyndham then won the under-15's section one final against Kyneton.

The final score was 8 to 3.
