BENDIGO talent John Lingard will perform on The Voice's live show tonight as he aims to step closer to winning the competition.
Tonight each of the remaining 16 acts will sing for the very first time for the public vote, with each coach granted one “save” before the voting lines open for the remaining three acts from each team.
Lingard will sing David Gray's Babylon, a song that is sure to suit his playing style very well.
He is sure to be full of confidence after returning to Bendigo 10 days ago to surprise one of his biggest fans at Girton Grammar School.
The Bendigo singer-songwriter's secured a berth in the live shows with his cover of Death Cab for Cutie's I Will Follow You Into The Dark. He beat out Team Kylie performers Lionel Cole and Candice Skjonnemand.
Prior to that he survived an elimination battle with Tom Oliver when he sang One Republic's Counting Stars.
Lingard sang Vance Joy's Riptide at his audition to enter the competition and join Team Kylie.
The Voice Live Finals begin tonight at 7.30pm on WIN with supergroup Coldplay in their first Australian television performance.
