The grant would provide $187,065 nationwide.
More than $41,000 made its way to veteran and defence community organisations.
Bendigo District RSL Sub-branch received $3000.
The money will go towards restoring a Centurion Tank on display at the Bendigo District RSL.
Veterans Affairs Minister Michael Ronaldson said the grants would help more than 80 communities.
"These funds will support projects that enable communities to commemorate significant military anniversaries, build or restore memorials, preserve and display wartime and military memorabilia and establish local honour boards and plaques and flagpoles where none exist," Mr Ronaldson said.
