Mr Cahill, is a potato middle man who sources quality spuds to some of central Victoria's premier restaurants.
The humble spud is Mr Cahill's favourite topic of conversation.
He spent Wednesday filming a news segment with comedian Dave Hughes and said the day went exceptionally well.
"The producer said, 'What we expected to film today - this was 10 times better''," Mr Cahill said.
He said Dave Hughes, also known as "Hughsey", was a "genuine, down to earth guy," who was "really passionate about what he was doing".
He said he and the film crew spent the day travelling to restaurants including GPO in Bendigo, Golden Square Hotel Bendigo and Castlemaine's Railway Hotel, which Mr Cahill supplies potatoes to.
They tasted hand cut wedges and gnocchi, he said, which Mr Hughes found to his liking.
They then went to Trentham - or "potato country" - to see where the potatoes were grown.
