We all know how much effort it takes to get through high school - and that was only six years - but when it comes to helping your family, or being involved in a hobby you are passionate about, it’s not quite such a chore.
For Sharon Pontelandolfo, she had both family and passion on her side.
Mrs Pontelandolfo began volunteering at the Bendigo and District Cycling Club with her husband when her sons got involved.
She said the club was short of help.
“We helped as much as we could,” she said.
Since then Mrs Pontelandolfo has organised cycling trips, become a state level commissaire - which is a cycling referee, a judge and was an official in the annual Bendigo Club tour during the Queen’s Birthday weekend.
She said she loves the sport, as does her husband, who is now the club president.
To run events like the Bendigo Tour it takes a lot of volunteers - people who are dedicated and passionate about the sport.
“We’re always looking for more help,” she said.
