The Grasshoppers and Blues applied pressure all over the court in a high standard game.
Some crucial intercepts by Alisha Leslie and Zoe O’Brien helped Colbo take control in the second quarter on the White Hills courts.
By half-time, Colbo led by four goals.
Mounts fought back strongly as goalshooter Gabe Richards starred in the gusty conditions.
The Colbo line-up, which included Eloise Cuttriss, Olivia McEvoy and Felicity Ryan won 43-41.
Goalscorers for the green and gold were Olivia McEvoy, 31, and Ryan, 12, while Richards scored a game-high 29 and Abbey Dorrington added 12.
Colbinabbin will play White Hills in this Saturday’s second semi-final at Toolleen.
Mounts will fight to stay in the premiership race when it takes on Lockington-Bamawm United in this Sunday’s first semi-final at Lockington.
The LBU Cats scored a seven-goal win in yesterday’s elimination final against Elmore.
Paige Tuohey scored 27 goals and Rylea Dullard added 19 as LBU won 46-39 at M.J. Morgan Reserve in Colbinabbin.
Elmore’s attack was led by Marnie Wolfe, 23, and Laura Harper on 16 goals.
Best for LBU were Rachelle Moon and Casey Frame.
The fleet-footed Rebecca Hayes intercepted many passes to be Elmore’s best, while Bree Hayes also played well at wing attack for the red and white.
Meanwhile, Loddon Valley’s finals series starts this Saturday. Qualifying finals are at Calivil on Saturday, with teams fighting to avoid elimination in Sunday’s play at Mitchell Park in Pyramid Hill.
