AUSTRALIAN paralympian Carol Cooke moved her audience to tears at a MS Australia fundraising event in Bendigo.
Ms Cooke shared her journey with multiple sclerosis at The Elegant Red Dress at the Bendigo Town Hall last weekend.
Event organiser Dr Sheriden Emonson, a general practitioner with MS, said Ms Cooke was an inspiration.
"Her motto was, 'It's no good to play a good card of hands well, the key is to play a bad hand of cards well'," she said.
"The message was just to face your fears and conquer anything you desire."
Dr Emonson said the event had gone off without a hitch.
"It was devine. We raised $15,500 which is great."
Major sponsors for the event included Central Victorian Cardiology, Fusion Physiotherapy, Country Cakes, Expert Real Estate, Hotel Shamrock, St John of God Pathology, Lyttleton Street Medical Clinic , D&M fencing and Poyser Mercedes.
