Key forwards Sam Mildren and Tom Bartholomew and midfielders Vinnie Flood and Shaun Everington are in line to resume from injury.
Bendigo Gold's Sam Heavyside and North Ballarat's Bryce Curnow could also be available because there is no VFL action this weekend.
The expected return of Mildren is the big news for the Storm.
The star full-forward's playing future was in doubt because of an ongoing hip injury.
He hasn't played this season, but Storm coach Darryl Wilson could rush him straight back into the seniors against the Bulldogs.
"Sam (Mildren) has trained fully the past two weeks and if he can get through training this week then he'll play,'' Wilson said.
"Not sure if it will be seniors or reserves. It will all depend on what happens with the other guys as well.
"Tom (Bartholomew) and Shaun (Everington) will come under consideration as well. They're probably 50-50 at this stage for this week.
"Vinnie Flood will be right to play and then we'll see what's going on with Sam (Heavyside) and Bryce (Curnow)."
Everington (ankle) and Bartholomew (knee), who were instrumental in the Storm's run to last year's grand final, haven't played a game this season.
"If they don't play this week, they'll both play the week after (against South Bendigo),'' Wilson said.
The Storm's opponents this week, Gisborne, are expected to regain key defender Anthony Belcher from injury.
Meanwhile, Golden Square will welcome back captain Simon Rosa and classy forward Hamish Morcom for its clash with arch-rival Sandhurst at the QEO.
