Isabella Ayre (Huntly), Choney Meemusour (Castlemaine) and Ashlea Hampton (Strathfieldsaye) are among 55 girls invited to the final stage of trials for the side to play in the national school championships in Sydney in July.
The final team of 25 will be announced next week, after selectors scrutinise their skills this weekend.
Officials will be watching on Friday when Ayre, from Kerang Technical High, plays in a practice match for Victoria Country ahead of the national under-18 youth girls carnival.
Meemusour, from Castlemaine Secondary, and Hampton, from Catholic College Bendigo, get their chance to impress at trials in Wheelers Hill this Sunday.
Natalie Svanosio, who attends Highvale Christian College in Maryborough and plays football in Ballarat, is also in the extended squad.
