A three-time WNBL championship player, Perera's experience and scoring punch will add some class to the defending east conference champions.
“Bendigo is a great place to play basketball,” Perera said.
“I am enjoying my time here and am looking forward to suiting up for the Braves this upcoming SEABL season.
“The Braves have a great culture and team chemistry and I’ve played with a lot of the girls before, so I hope to fit in well and, hopefully, with my experience add to their success from last year.”
The 27-year-old comes to the Lady Braves having most recently played in the SEABL for the Kilsyth Cobras where she averaged almost 14 points and five rebounds per game in 2013.
In 2012, Perera was among the league’s top scorers averaging nearly 18 points per game for the Cobras.
Lady Braves head coach Jonathan Goodman said Perera was a key signing for the group, and that she would be a great fit for the team.
“Chantella is an exciting athlete that loves to get out in the open floor and attack,” Goodman said.
“She is aggressive to the basket and fits perfectly into how we want to play.
“She’s a dynamic playmaker that puts a lot of pressure on opposing defenders.”
The Lady Braves' season starts on March 22, with a home game against the Brisbane Spartans.
They face defending champions Knox in Melbourne on Sunday, March 30. The Lady Braves return home on April 5 to tackle Frankston.
