Bendigo fire units were called to help fight the fire at Dhurringle Prison on Tuesday night.

A CFA spokesman said a specialised aerial appliance from Bendigo was requested.

Paramedics tell of ambulance service 'meltdown' in heatwave

A BAGSHOT MICA paramedic has told of working frantic 14-hour days in last week's heatwave, including finding an 86-year-old woman who later died after waiting more than two hours for an ambulance.
