HALT is dedicated to raising awareness about anxiety, depression and well-being in the tradie community.
Mr Forbes is one of the co-founders of the fantastic initiative HALT - Hope, Assistance, Local Tradies.
HALT is dedicated to raising awareness about anxiety, depression and well-being in the tradie community.
The group managed to attract more than 100 tradies to a breakfast in Castlemaine last year - an opportunity for people to get together and 'talk'.
HALT doesn't preach but does supply information for tradies to take home and read in their own time.
It's a wonderful initiative to get people thinking about mental health and importantly the need for tradies to look out for each other.
Now HALT is coming to Bendigo.
Hume and Iser will host the city's first Save The Bacon breakfast on March 18 as a precursor to the third annual Suicide Prevention Awareness Network community walk on March 23.
One of the great things about the Castlemaine breakfast was the support of businesses who offered items so the 'showbags' given out were not just full of information about mental health and help services.
The call is now out for Bendigo businesses to follow the lead - can you help this worthy cause?
