The right-arm fast bowler is a member of Cricket Victoria's high performance academy and has made the state under-15 girls team.

She leaves for Sydney next Wednesday to contest the national championships, which run until December 3.

Remarkably, Tayla is in her first season of club cricket - lining up alongside brother James in Bendigo Strathdale's under-15A side - having played for Norther Rivers at state titles last January.

She has been invited to take the field for Victorian Women's Cricket Association premier one team Plenty Valley and is the only girl in the Bendigo association's under-15 rep squad.

Her Victorian coach, John Hayes, described the young talent as "a ripper".

"She's tall, athletic and can bowl the ball up over 93km/h," he said. "She's also a very good batter and a great fielder and during the trial games, she hung onto a couple of cracking catches."

Tayla represented Victoria last year in under-14 soccer and was runner-up in the Bendigo Amateur Soccer League women's division 2013 best-and-fairest count and Golden Boot award.

At just 15, Tayla is taking success in her stride.

"Hopefully in Sydney I'll be able to make a few runs, take a few wickets and have some fun," she said.
