Lauren Ellery from Mornington took out the title of Myer Lady of the Day, with the accountant claiming she had worked hard to save for the outfit. 

The printed knee length dress featured cap sleeves and a purple frill hem, while Ms Ellery's millinery perched elaborately on her forehead.

"I sent Rebecca the dress and got her to make a piece of millinery that fitted," she said. 

"She is very talented, so I trusted her to make me something beautiful - I love it."

Ms Ellery said the Spring Racing Carnival was her favourite time of the year and she planned to attend Derby Day, Melbourne Cup and Oaks Day.

Bendigo resident Amy Gardner took out two titles - Myer Local Lady of the Day and the Myer Millinery Award. 

The two-time entrant wore a cream and black patterned dress from Cue with a matching headpiece designed by Lisa Xu. 

"I didn't expect to win, especially two categories," she said. 

"I always wear black and white, and just wanted to have some fun."

Ms Gardner said Cue was her one her favourite labels 

"Everything always looks nice on everyone," she said.

"I don't think they have a bad cut - you can't go wrong."

Ty Chaffey-Jones took more than two hours to get ready for the Cup but it paid off, with the Bendigo resident winning Myer Man of the Day for the third year straight.

He wore beige pants, with a printed shirt, navy jacket, and a mint coloured tie and handkerchief.  

Mr Chaffey-Jones also wore millinery - a straw hat bought from the Bendigo Hat Shop. 

"The Bendigo Hat Shop really helped me out - they were great," he said. 

"Also Catherine Walker, a seamstress helped me tailor the outfit."

Myer Ambassador Lauren Phillips said she was impressed by the fashion at this year's Bendigo Cup.

"I am blown away by the fashion and the atmosphere," she said. 

"It was great - everyone had gone to a lot of effort."
