THE lure of playing with his younger brothers for the first time is one of the key reasons for reigning Heathcote District Football League Cheatley medallist Ryan Semmel's likely move to Rye.

Semmel has been one of the driving forces of Huntly's resurgence in the HDFL over the past two years.
However, the superstar midfielder indicated on Wednesday he was likely headed to Rye in the Nepean Football League with his two brothers, Jake and Luke.
"Luke played with De La Salle in the Amateurs this year and Jake played with Murrumbeena... those two didn't want to go to the club I was at, and I didn't want to go the clubs they were at, so we've had to meet at a happy medium and that looks like being Rye," Semmel said.
"We've never all played together, so it will be good."
As well as the chance to play with his brothers, Semmel said the toll of travelling from Melbourne to play with Huntly had also been a factor in his decision.
While he's on the move, Semmel, 26, said he hoped the Hawks would remain on track to win their first HDFL flag after this year losing to Lockington-Bamawm United in the grand final.
