Peter Coyne succeeds Maria Simpson in the position.

Bendigo TAFE chairwoman Margaret O’Rourke said the board was looking forward to working with Mr Coyne.

"We have valued Maria's leadership through a challenging period of reform that affected the entire TAFE sector, and we are excited about the change management skills Peter brings to our organisation as we now move into a new commercial phase,”she said.

"Peter was born and educated in Bendigo, and spent his early career in education here.

“He is an experienced teacher who has gone on to build a corporate career at Crown Ltd  as a senior member of its executive.”

Ms O'Rourke said Mr Coyne's experience made him well-suited to the position.

She said she looked forward to working with Mr Coyne .
