The regional touring arm of The Australian Ballet, The Dancers Company, will visit Bendigo as part of its national tour.
The triple bill performance will see four guest artists from The Australian Ballet join 25 graduating students from The Australian Ballet School on stage.
The professional dancers will perform acts from Paquita and Swan Lake as well as brand new piece, Rimbonbo. Dancer Amy Harris said she was excited to be coming to Bendigo. “We have just started touring and it has been going really well so far,” she said.
“I grew up in Ararat so I know that most regional towns don’t get a chance to see performances like this so I am really excited to be coming to Bendigo.”
Miss Harris has been a part of The Australian Ballet for the past 12 years.
“It has been a bit of an up and down ride but I have had a wonderful career so far,” she said.
“It has been rewarding and gruelling and challenging but I am just thankful for the opportunity to be a part of dancing.”
The performance is supported by Telstra. Telstra Country Wide Area General Manager for Northern Victoria and Sunraysia Steve Tinker applauded The Australian Ballet’s commitment and dedication to bring The Dancers Company to Bendigo.
“Telstra is proud to be supporting the tour which provides local audiences with the opportunity to witness the spectacle of ballet and the stars of tomorrow up close and in person,” he said.
The Dancers Company will hit the stage at The Capital on Friday and Saturday.
