Jeremy Beale won a great match against Oliver Casey, 7-6(3) 3-6 7-6(5).
Nathan Mayes took more than hours to beat Jackson Varney 4-6 7-6(4) 6-3.
Today’s highlights at the Bendigo Bank tennis complex include two rounds of the women’s main draw.
Laura Kelly, Sophie Vickers, Nina Fujii, Mary-Anne Jessup, Saintly Molotti, Sarah Prescott, Stephanie Barnett and Evana Bowell won through to the main draw which features top-seeded players Nives Barics and Zoe Hives.
Final round of men’s qualifying singles is on from 9am today.
The tournament was opened by Bendigo Bank State Manager Vicki Pearce and Labour candidate for Bendigo, Lisa Chesters.
