The US import is the first player to sign for the 2013-14 campaign.
Griffin was excellent in her debut season and averaged 16 points and eight rebounds per game.
The 25-year-old chose the Spirit over potentially far more lucrative offers to play in Europe during the WNBA off-season.
The Connecticut forward often said how she rediscovered her love for the game in Bendigo last season.
"Several times Kelsey mentioned how much she loved being part of the Bendigo Spirit and we're really looking forward to having her back next year," Spirit coach Bernie Harrower said.
