The Borough's main street was awash with water spilling over drains onto footpath areas.
There have been reports of some building damage.
There have also been reports of a loud explosion and loss of power in the McIvor Road area of Bendigo.

The Bureau of Meteorology recorded 18 millimetres of rain from the storm at Bendigo Airport between 4.22pm and 6pm.
The Bureau of Meteorology issued a severe thunderstorm warning for Bendigo at 4.19 pm.
The warning said severe thunderstorms were likely to produce heavy rainfall that may lead to flash flooding and large hailstones in the warning area over the next several hours.
