It was great to see so many wonderful events further promoting our region as a great place to live, work and visit.
Just a few of the weekend’s activities included the Scots Day Out, the Eaglehawk and Bendigo kennel club dog shows and the Marong Cup.
The Bendigo Advertiser today reports the first Scots Day Out was a roaring success, attracting more than 2000 people.
Organiser Chris Earl said Bendigo had absolutely embraced the event. “The level of energy and excitement down View Street and in Rosalind Park is just fantastic,” he said.
“People have said it’s the best venue for this type of event and that it’s easy to get around and talk to the various clans and family and friends. It has exceeded expectations.”
Bendigo was also host to four different shows put on by the Eaglehawk and Bendigo kennel clubs at the Exhibition Centre at the Prince of Wales Showgrounds.
Eaglehawk and Bendigo kennel clubs’ secretary Carol Hobday said this year there was a record number of entries for the show.
“We are very, very pleased,” she said.
“We had a good panel of judges and they finished the show early.
“There were around 2500 entries, which is really good.”
Well done Bendigo and let’s hope we can continue to put on such fantastic events.
