The pair are the only two prep students to start school at Guildford primary this year.
Guildford primary school leading teacher Wendy Walsh said having a small number of students at the school was the norm.
“We are a small school and this is the type of thing that happens,” she said.
“Last year we had four prep students, so we are a bit down.”
Ms Walsh said the girls had fitted in comfortably on their first day.
“There were no tears,” she said. While Zelda’s sister previously attended the school, Chloe is in the same class as her grade one brother Jackson.
“There is a prep to grade two class, which means Chloe is in with her brother,” Ms Walsh said.
“I saw him giving Chloe a big cuddle.”
Ms Walsh said while the school population was small, it was family-orientated.
“The thing about small schools is that we have a great family atmosphere,” she said. The big kids and little kids love playing together.”e school and we encourage them to get involved.”
