Like all parents, I am keen for our children to have future opportunities to study and learn at university in regional Victoria.
The strategic partnership recently announced between two of Bendigo’s most important institutions – the bank and the university – offering scholarships to students from regional areas will help to deliver more opportunities for students.
La Trobe’s contribution to our city and region can never be under-estimated, particularly its long and successful contribution to education in the allied health fields.
The reputation of La Trobe Bendigo attracts enrolments from both young and mature-age students in Bendigo, the region and from Melbourne.
As a former La Trobe student myself, I understand and value courses on offer in Bendigo, and the role the university plays in our community.
On behalf of our community, I thank the Bendigo and Adelaide Bank for the confidence it has shown through the new partnership with La Trobe, and your readers can be assured that I will be working with our university to provide the best opportunities for student today and in the future.
