The year 12 graduate was among 57,880 Victorian students who received an offer on Thursday to study at a tertiary institution.
She said she was looking forward to becoming a university student in 2014, after completing a gap year abroad.
“I am hoping to take a gap year and do some travelling in Europe,” she said.
Ms Sellar said after completing her three-year science degree she hoped to stay at university for another three years studying veterinary science.
“I love animals and it has been my dream to work with them,” Ms Sellar said.
“I find science really interesting and I am one of those people who likes to discover the logic behind things,” she said.
Another student who was elated with her offer was Catholic College’s Karla Dullard, who will pursue a bachelor of youth work at the Australian Catholic University.
Ms Dullard said she was secretly confident of her acceptance into the course after receiving an early offer in December.
She said she planned on deferring her offer and taking a gap year, which included working at a summer camp in America.
“All my friends joke about missing school but we actually miss it, especially the social life,” she said.
Catholic College student Rachel Dodd received an offer to study a double degree in visual arts and arts at Monash University. Ms Dodd said she was looking forward to the “whole experience” of university life.
“Uni will be more direct than school,” she said.
“The visual arts course focuses on what I want to do.”
Ms Dodd said she would begin her university course in 2014 after taking a gap year and working in the army.
Harvey Duckett from Catholic College will start classes in March after accepting an offer to study arts at Melbourne University.
The high achieving student said he was excited to move away from home and get a “sense of independence”.
