Wallis was arrested by police at a unit in Retreat Road where the alleged stabbing took place.
She was interviewed by police yesterday afternoon and charged.
Wallis was remanded to appear at the Bendigo Magistrates Court on April 9.
Paramedics were called to the unit at 4.38am and treated a 44-year-old woman for multiple stab wounds.
An Ambulance Victoria spokesman said the woman was taken to Bendigo Health in a serious but stable condition.
A Bendigo Health spokesman confirmed last night the victim remained in a stable condition.
Police yesterday set up a crime scene at the Spring Gully unit and a police guard was put in place outside the property.
Police have confirmed they were investigating a domestic-related incident.
The flywire screen on a window in one of the units at the residential property was pushed in and household items were strewn across the front yard.
The police cordon surrounded a pile of items, including a kitchen knife, sitting in the road outside the property.
An Esky, a set of keys, a mobile phone, a cigarette packet, toilet paper and stubbies of beer were also in the pile.
A witness told the Bendigo Advertiser police and detectives had been gathered at the scene since early yesterday morning.
