The Victorian men’s fours teams are somewhat fortunate to be tied at one-Test all after only winning one rink yesterday.
Wayne Roberts skippered the 22-7 win, which helped the Vics win the first Test, 50-44.
The visitors struck back in the afternoon, winning all three rinks to finish with a comprehensive 66-40 triumph in the Second Test.
Victoria’s women also won their first Test, with Carla Odgers and Lisa Philips skippering rink victories in the 57-53 result.
South Australia prevailed in a thrilling second Test, 59-57, to tie overall scores at 1-1 before today’s two Tests.
Only Odgers’ fours team – which includes Kyneton’s Chloe Stewart – was successful in the second Test, with a 23-13 result.
The senior men and women play five Tests each.
Victoria’s under-25 women’s team is in early trouble, trailing South Australia 5-1 in the best of 15 game series.
The Big V’s under-25s side, which features Bendigo’s Andrew Brown and Matt Wilson, is in a tough-fought contest tied at three-all.
The under-18s were called-off due to extreme heat on their opening day on Monday and are halfway through the second Tests leading into today’s resumption.
Both Victorian teams are in positions of strength, leading 4-0 with singles and fours to be finished this morning before the Third Test begins in the afternoon with the pairs and triples to be contested.
Action begins from 9am today on the Barnard Street greens.
