Bendigo Senior High School's Old Gold reaches milestone

BENDIGO Senior Secondary College is set to release a centenary edition of the school’s annual magazine Old Gold.

Each year staff and students come together and write about the year’s highlights and achievements.

BSSC principal Dale Pearce said the anniversary edition summarises the purpose of having a school magazine.

He said he hoped when current students looked back on their time at BSSC, the 2012 Old Gold magazine would bring up some good memories of their time at the school. The first edition of Old Gold, which was published in 1912, documented sporting achievements, literary contributions, descriptions of excursions and notes on what past students were doing.

A copy of the first edition was found in the school’s time capsule that was opened in 2007.

Copies of the centenary edition of Old Gold will be available to purchase at the school on January 7, for $13.
