In Marong a small blaze was started after a tyre fell off a truck around 2pm. Approximately half a hectare was burnt by the fire on the Calder Alternate Highway.
It's believed the truck driver was unaware he had lost a tyre.
Around lunch time a small grass fire was extinguished by CFA crews at Sullivans Road, Strathfieldsaye.
A lawn mower is believed to have sparked the fire, which was no threat to property or residents.
Meanwhile, fire crews have battled a medium-sized fire on Triangle Road near Newbridge.
As Bendigo heads for a top of 32 degrees the CFA has declared a fire danger rating of high.
Central and north central Victoria and the Mallee region have a fire danger rating of very high today.
