Police believe the female driver was travelling south on the highway when her sedan veered into the north-bound lane and collided head-on with a truck.

The woman died at the scene and the truck driver was taken to Kerang hospital for observation.

The truck exploded and caught fire after the collision and CFA crews attended the scene to combat the blaze.

The crash marked the third death on Victoria’s roads yesterday.
