After five events had been run, Cook led the title chase on 3351 points as he won all five events.
Cook’s run began with a time of 11.57 in the 100m and was followed by competition bests of 6.36m at long jump, 11.29m in shot put, 1.91m at high jump, and 53.48 in the 400m.
The titles will be decided this afternoon at La Trobe University Bendigo athletics complex in Retreat Road, Flora Hill. First events are at 1.30pm.
The AB multi-event titles have also drawn several athletes from Richmond Harriers.
Day one included four events in the seven-discipline heptathlon.
