The Bendigo Young Lady Braves’ on-court future has been secured for the next three seasons, with The McIvor Hotel Restaurant coming on board as naming rights sponsor.

The McIvor Young Braves team is the breeding ground for many of Bendigo’s future SEABL players and future Bendigo Bank Spirit players.
Without a naming rights sponsor, the McIvor Young Lady Braves wouldn’t be able to take to the basketball court, head coach Andrea Walsh said.
“It is fantastic to have the McIvor on board for the next three years; without their support our team would not be able to hit the court,” she said.
A legend at the Bendigo Braves Basketball Club, Walsh is returning to the club as coach of the D-League women’s team for the 2013 campaign.
Bendigo Basketball Association president Mark Lennox thanked The McIvor Hotel owners Phil and Kim Martin for their continued support of Bendigo basketball.
“The support from Phil and Kim, the McIvor owners, is a huge asset to the Braves Basketball Club,” Lennox said.
“Phil puts in countless hours as the Bendigo Bank Braves team manager and now to financially back our ÿoung women’s program, we couldn’t be more grateful.”
Phil Martin said he and Kim were “delighted to be a part of basketball in Bendigo and see this as a wonderful program for young women in sport.”
Last season, Bendigo’s women’s team won through to the Development League play-offs.
Walsh and the squad will be aiming for more on-court success in 2013 and beyond.
