Mark Smith, 31, appeared in the Bendigo Magistrates Court via video link yesterday. The court heard he had been arrested yesterday morning and charged with criminal damage and breach of an intervention order.

Duty solicitor Claire Wilkin said Smith was facing other matters in court on December 18 and asked for the new charges to be adjourned until then. The court heard Smith had been in the police cells for one night “a few weeks ago”.

Magistrate Jennifer Tregent granted an adjournment.
