The City of Greater Bendigo and Industry Capability Network will run the session at the All Seasons Quality Resort in McIvor Road tonight.
It will detail what businesses must do to comply with government codes of practice, which the council’s economic development unit manager Brian Gould said was important.
“We’ve got two very big projects coming up with the hospital and community theatre,” he said.
“But federal and state-funded projects could be anywhere else within the region, state and around the nation.
“It will give our local businesses, who may wish to think about bidding for jobs, the rules they must comply with so they can overcome that hurdle in the first instance.”
Mr Gould said most medium and large companies would attend to make sure they knew the technicalities, and smaller companies may want to attend to get an overview of the regulations.
He said more than 130 companies had registered for the session, which starts at 4.45pm and runs for about 90 minutes.
“People will have the opportunity to ask questions in the forum or after the meeting,” he said.
