Batsmen who strike a Beazley Builder sign placed on the shortened boundary line at the Neale Street ground will pocket $100.
And the fans can also figure in the prize pool, with $50 to be rewarded to any spectator who takes a catch.
Bendigo United Cricket Club president David Bicknell said the “hit the sign” promotion added to the excitement of the Twenty20 format.
“This is our third year of having the signs up at a home Twenty20 game,” Bicknell said.
“So far the money is yet to be won.”
Bicknell said the club appreciated the support from Reuben Beazley Builder as major sponsor for the Twenty20 and one-day matches played by the club.
“We’ve been a club sponsor for a few years, and David spoke to us about a sponsorship deal for Twenty20 and the one-day games,” Beazley said.
“This is another way to promote our business and help the club as well.”
Beazley is more than just a key backer off-field, he is also a long-time player at Bendigo United.
His career of more than 15 years at the club includes a first XI premiership.
Tonight’s battle at Kennington hits off at 5pm.
