Bendigo McDonald’s licensee Peter Melleuish said Saturday’s event was popular and well supported by the community.
“It was a great day,” he said.
“We raised about $6000 in cash with tins on the counter, buckets and raffles. Then we probably sold about 3000 Big Macs, with $2 from every burger going towards Ronald McDonald House Charities.
“That’s about another $6000, so all up we would have raised between $11,000 and $12,000.”
The money will go to Ronald McDonald House Charities, which provides accommodation for seriously sick children and their families across the country.
