Perpetual Private is seeking a Senior Research Analyst to join the team.
This role is focused on working within the Direct Equities team who are responsible for the Perpetual Private direct equities investment process.
The role involves the construction and maintenance of approved lists and model portfolios for listed Australian equity investments.

Conduct ongoing fundamental company analysis within assigned sector responsibilities and report ‘conviction views’ to the team. Participate in building, maintaining and monitoring company valuation infrastructure.
Build relationships across the industry (listed corporates, broker analysts, industry contacts etc)
Maintain and regularly review approved stock lists in accordance with PP investment process. As part of a team, construct and maintain model portfolios which are expected to outperform the market and add value to client portfolios
Maintain and monitor regular reporting & update tasks – including valuation spreadsheets, performance reporting, document tracking etc
Research and prepare regular and one-off articles, market updates, training sessions, advisor and client presentations etc.
To be considered for this opportunity, your qualifications, skills and experience could include:
Degree qualified in a relevant financial discipline, preferably with, or in the process of attaining, appropriate post-graduate qualifications (eg. CFA)
7 - 10 plus years in an analytical investment related role (equities) within the mainstream institutional stockbroking or funds management industry
Passion for investments, particularly equities
Strong analytical capability. Experience in qualitative and quantitative finance techniques, valuations etc. The candidate should also demonstrate strong thought processes and have a questioning mind/personality.
High skill level with excel spreadsheets (good knowledge of macros and pivot tables preferable)
Excellent communications skills - ability to communicate with experts and laypersons alike
