Client
Our client is a major supplier of feed and grain transport and conveying equipment used by customers in the feed milling and farm sectors.  The business also supplies grain aeration systems capable of meeting the needs of a range of storage sizes and designs. The business is based in Toowoomba with a workshop and distribution store, servicing customers Australia-wide and into New Zealand and SE Asia.   The workshop predominantly fabricates and maintains trailers and pneumatic conveying equipment. The business has an established clientele in the Southern States and requires a Southern Regional representative to maintain and grow the Victorian and South Australian market.

Role
The role is to sell and service the customers located in the southern NSW, Victorian and South Australian markets. This will involve a significant amount of travel to focus on the feed milling customers, as well as identifying and meeting large livestock producers who manufacture their own feed mixes on-farm. The position will necessitate frequent travel and will suit a motivated individual, with the ability to work independently while maintaining company values.  To excel at this role you will need to be well organised with excellent communication and negotiation skills. The ideal candidate will be someone with a mechanical background from the transport industry but could also come from the stockfeed industry. They will need to be a self-starter with good relationship-building skills. There is a solid customer base of existing clients so the emphasis is largely on maintaining and building relationships rather than new business development. 

Responsibilities
You will require experience and skill in the following areas:

  • Maintain existing customer relationships
  • Identify and develop new customers
  • Provision of technical product support
  • Preparation and manning of field day and industry events
  • Development and Implementation of sales strategies
  • Provide customer service / technical support
  • Provide feedback on products, services, and market assessments
  • Delivery & commissioning of equipment
  • Forecast sales budgeting

Requirements

  • Knowledge of the feed milling and livestock production sectors would be an advantage
  • Understanding of equipment and machinery
  • Ability to work independently
  • You must be well organised and proactive
  • Effective communication skills, both written and oral
  • Computer skills to facilitate reporting and opportunity logging

Remuneration and Location
This role has a good base salary as well as uncapped commissions. The Southern Territory to be serviced includes Victoria, Southern NSW and South Australia. The role would ideally be located in Central Victoria eg Bendigo. Location will be flexible but not likely to be outside of Victoria where the majority of the business is located.
