The Company

Our client is a vertically integrated food processing business with operations across Australia. They are a trusted partner of many of the major food retailers in Australia and are looking for a new Production Manager in their South Australian operation.

This is a challenging and vital role, requiring the planning, coordination and control of the manufacturing process.  As a production manager, you'll be responsible for the safe, cost effective and timely production of fresh food products to exacting quality standards. 

This involves providing strong managerial leadership and has responsibility for both human and material resources.

In the role of Production Manager, you will also:

• Be responsible for safety and zero harm including risk management, training and continuous improvement
• Work closely with the Quality Manager to achieve quality and DIFOT metrics as well as maintaining high levels of food quality (HACCP)
• Build, maintain and develop the skills and capabilities of your team
• Produce your quotas in full and on time while working daily to achieve incremental improvement while operating within budget
• Manage and support continuous improvement with the developemt and improvement of SOPs, including effective use of the ERP and MRP systems
• Manage compliance with all internal, regulatory and customer standards
• Make a major contribution to strategy while targeting high levels of operational excellence. 

The Production Manager

At the conclusion of this search the successful candidate will most likely have:

• Significant experience in food production and food safety - Fresh strongly preferred
• Strong team leadership skills with recognised capabilities in people and performance management
• Demonstrated capability in the application of lean processes
• A track record in continuous improvement
• Exceptional hazard risk assessment and control implementation
• Project management skills
• Exceptional communication skills across all disciplines
• Relevant tertiary business qualifications 
• Strong self management disciplines
• Great computer, ERP, MRP and analysis skills.
