Your new company
This position will see you working within a State Government department, based in Melbourne's CBD. You will be working with a well-established team responsible for providing high quality legal advice.

Your new role
In this role, you will provide, coordinate and supervise the legal representation in criminal, civil and/or administrative proceedings. In addition, you will:

• Provide, coordinate and supervise case management and negotiation of files
• Maintain a sound understanding of relevant legislation and the department’s policy, procedure and guidelines.
• Provide legal supervision for Lawyers and deliver training on relevant legislation and new and emerging areas of law.
• Develop and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

What you'll need to succeed
To be considered you will have:

• A legal qualification and a current Australian Legal Practising Certificate
• 3+ PAE
• Demonstrated ability to work under pressure, both independently and as a member of a team, with limited supervision
• Ability to perform legal research and analysis, including comparative and electronic research, in both existing and emerging areas of law
• Excellent communications skills and ability to deal with different stakeholders effectively
