Career Opportunities: Economic Development Officer - Activations and Sustainability (10783) Requisition ID10783-Posted16/11/2021-Liveable Communities-Job Function (1)-Tenure Status (1)-Employment Status (1) Full time 36 month position until December 2024 Fantastic opportunity to join our Local Economies team $91,950 plus Super, plus RDO A little bit about the role Reporting to the Coordinator - Local Economies, this multifaceted role will be responsible for delivering the annual Boroondara Christmas Program and other potential major city wide seasonal activities in consultation with trader associations. The role will also be responsible for overseeing the Surrey Hills Level Crossing Removal Project trader engagement and providing support to Council's outdoor tradinginitiatives implemented across Boroondara's shopping precincts. Furthermore, the role will drive and implement key activities to raise awareness of the need to transition to a circular economy, facilitate existing businesses to reduce their impact on the environment and contribute to the attraction of environmentally sustainable businesses into Boroondara. Other tasks include assisting to foster partnerships and networking between local training and education providers, job service providers, industry and relevant state and federal government employment programs to facilitate employment and training outcomes and address workforce shortages amongst local businesses. What you will bring to the role? You will be part of a small, highly productive and engaged team that operates in a fast paced environment. You will thrive on working on a range of complex tasks at once and have the ability to be agile and bring your initiative and creative thinking to the role. You will bring your exceptional project management skills and demonstrated experience in the coordination of large, creative activation projects. You will have a passion for developing and delivering initiatives in support of small businesses to become more environmentally sustainable and address workforce needs. Your capacity to problem solve and analyse trends impacting Boroondara's traders will be integral to your role as will the ability to effectively liaise with all key stakeholders. Experience and Other Requirements Experience in managing complex customer facing projects that involve engagement with a range of stakeholders Experience liaising with small business owners/managers is desirable A general knowledge/understanding of how small businesses can become more environmentally sustainable Current driver's license.
