Commercial Specialist (Operational Services) Southwest Zone

About the role
Skout on behalf of Ventia are currently looking to engage an experienced Commercial Specialist to join the Commercial Operational Services team within our Defence Base Services contract. 

This role will be responsible for the preparation of complex Contract Change Proposal variations to the head contract in addition to delivery of a wide range of commercial advisory work. In addition, this role will be highly engaged with Ventia Defence operational teams to drive commercial input and support across Defence activities. This is a full-time permanent role.

Reporting to the Commercial Operations Manager (Operational Services), you will be first point of contact for the Operational Services scope of works within the Southwest Zone.

Key Duties

• Undertake preparation of zone specific OS Contract Change Proposals (CCP’s)
• Undertake zone specific OS related commercial advisory work
• Ensure contractual commitments are met by their due dates
• Work closely with Project Support Services (PSS) to prepare for pipeline of new project related CCP’s and to complete all outstanding legacy project related CCP’s
• Provide accurate and timely inputs to consolidated reporting on key OS focused metrics
• Engage with procurement / subcontracts in relation to downstream OS requirements

Skills and Experience 

• Minimum two years’ experience in contract or commercial management
• Demonstrated experience with contract administration
• Ability to analyse and interpret data for independent decision making
• Ability to work through complex commercial issues and recommend a course of action, while being prepared to engage with risk 
• Demonstrated ability to self-manage and prioritise workloads with sound project management skills
• Knowledge of the Defence contracting environment highly regarded

You must be an Australian Citizen to be eligible to obtain a Defence security clearance.
