Full job description

The Role

The successful applicants will undertake the AGO Trainee Program, which is a civilian competency-based training program in which participants undergo workplace-based training while completing a Certificate lV in Spatial Information Services.

The work of the Foundation Geospatial Analyst function in Defence: Acquire knowledge and experience by performing applicable technical practices and processes. Work collaboratively, investigate, interpret and to comply with legislative policy and regulatory frameworks in support of the Defence materiel capability life cycle.

Within the Technical Trainee function a Technical Trainee is accountable under close direction to undertake basic technical trainee tasks and activities. They will work within a framework of legislation, established principles, work practices and procedures in accordance with Defence's mission and business objectives.

They will be limited to a range of basic technical trainee tasks, will contribute to team discussions to achieve outcomes and will seek assistance when required.

The Technical Trainee may have limited stakeholder engagement and will be required to respond under direction to changes in stakeholder needs and expectations to achieve outcomes. They will be accountable to contribute towards ongoing self-improvement and professional development.
