This year’s Fashions on the Field features a total prize pool of more than $9000, including travel vouchers, gift vouchers and a Catanach Jeweller’s sterling silver necklace made specially for the event.
Clothing boutique The Styling Bird’s Jess and Chelsey Pawsey will guest judge the classic race wear “Lady of the Day” and Stricklands Menswear’s Tony Cavanagh will judge the gents.
“We are looking for autumn colours and florals – lots of bright mustards, raspberry, magenta, and cobalt blue are all massive at the moment,” Jessica said.
“It’s about standing out from the crowd, doing something that no one else will. You can have the same dress as somebody but style it different – an accessory can make all the difference.”
Fashions on the Field project manager Marnie Bowles said the theme of the event would be classic race wear inspired by a golden era.
“We have such a classy event with the Grace Kelly exhibition that we want to keep the ball rolling on race day,” she said.
“There will be first, second and third prizes handed out for the best dressed ladies and gents.”
