THERE are grey flecks in the hair of some and a few have not played for many summers, but the Bendigo APCO Old Boys team is aiming to cap a memorable reunion at this weekend’s Victoria country water polo titles in Wodonga.It’s been 20 years since the players lining up for the Old Boys starred in Bendigo’s victory in the men’s open division at the country championships.Westpac has kicked in to sponsor Bendigo’s campaign against teams from across the state.The Old Boys campaign begins this morning against long-time rival, Geelong.A highlight will be the Symons family being represented by Bruce, Dave and Ian in the pool.They will again join forces with the likes of Paul Edebone, John Reid, Darren Scoble and Dean Spencely in the pool.Bendigo Water Polo president Bruce Pridham is another key player in the Old Boys line-up.The Peter Symons-coached Old Boys will take on teams representing Pool Pirates, Wodonga, Albury, Surf Coast and Northside across two hectic days of action.The young guns from the Thursday night competition run at the Bendigo Aquatic Centre include Jacob Carroll, Marcus Arandt, Dylan Tonkin, Nick Swan and Luke Smart.They will team up with the experienced Dave Jansen, Dale Boyd, Jeff Swan and Dan Carew.In the women’s competition, Bendigo has Molly and Bonnie Pridham, Laura Stahl, Jacinta Reed and Sam Hommelhoff aiming to set up, score or stop goals.The pool matches will be followed by tomorrow afternoon’s finals.Bendigo APCO Gold: 1 Dave Jansen, 2 Dale Boyd, 3 Jacob Carroll, 4 Peter Holmes, 5 Marcus Arandt, 6 Viv Cossar, 7 Jeff Swan, 8 Dan Carew, 9 Adam Symons, 10 Matt Campbell, 11 Rob Campbell, 12 Dylan Tonkin, 13 Nick Swan, 14 Luke Smart.Bendigo APCO Old Boys: 1 Geoff Nichols, 2 Paul Edebone, 3 Brett Leahy, 5 Darren Scoble, 6 Bruce Symons, 7 John Reid, 8 Bruce Pridham, 9 Dave Symons, 11 Dean Spenceley, 13 Ian Symons.
