FIRE RIPS THROUGH BENDIGO HOTEL

Police are investigating the cause of a suspicious fire which ripped through a popular central Victorian hotel overnight. The Country Fire Authority was called to the Farmers Arms Hotel on the McIvor Highway in Junortoun about 2 o’clock this morning.Police said the hotel was well alight when crews arrived but the fire was under control within 30 minutes.While the hotel was extensively damaged, no one was injured in the blaze. Road blocks along the McIvor Highway with detours around the hotel were expected to remain until after 12pm.More reports, photos – see The Advertiser tomorrow.Were you there?
