Both have had long involvements with the BDBA, filling numerous important roles and both are deserving of the honour.
Among Roy Alexander's list of roles with the BDBA are two terms as president, member of the match committee, executive and finance committee and selector.
He first played with Kangaroo Flat in 1953, and is a 10-time club champion, A1 premiership player and life member at the Flat.
Roy Alexander has played more than 750 games of pennant for the Flat and was part of the club's A2 premiership side in 2004-05.
He first became involved at association level with the BDBA in 1978 as a selector.
"Life membership is the greatest honour anyone can be paid, outside of playing sport," Mr Alexander said yesterday.
Ken Gloster first played lawn bowls in 1953 with Underbool, before moving to Bendigo in 1970, where he joined the Bendigo East Bowling Club.
While he has been a tremendous servant of Bendigo East filling roles such as president and chairman of selectors, he has also made an enormous contribution to the BDBA.
He has held the position of treasurer since 1985, been the association recorder for 20 years and has hosted the BDBA's weekly Saturday morning radio show on the Fresh FM for 16 years.
"You wouldn't do it if you didn't enjoy it, and I have thoroughly enjoyed it," Mr Gloster said.
"When the pennant season is over, well, all of a sudden I get withdrawal symptoms."The BDBA's presentation night will be held from 7 pm tonight at the Eaglehawk Bowling Club.
Max Watts and Gwen Waegeli are the toast of the Kangaroo Flat Bowls Club after winning the Victorian Country Masters mixed pairs at Cohuna at the weekend.
The Kangaroo Flat pair defeated the Leitchville combination of Don and Roma Opie 17-13 in the final to win the prestigious title.
The Victorian Country Masters mixed pairs is restricted to players who have won a club championship previously, so it was a high quality field Watts and Waegeli had to overcome.
The pair won four of the five sectional games to advance to the semi-final, where they defeated Eaglehawk's Fred Schmidt and Barham Servicemen's Beryl Plier 10-9 on the final end.
They then won an entertaining final by four shots.
It was only the third year they had been competing in the event.
"It's good for the Kangaroo Flat Bowls Club because no one had won at the Victorian Country Masters before," Watts said yesterday.
"It's not easy to win . . . they don't come easy.
"We were thrilled just to win our section, so to win the final was unbelievable."Watts and Waegeli's win continues what has been a successful season for Kangaroo Flat, which won both the Bendigo District Bowls Association's A1 and A2 pennants, while it's division one women's side was runner-up.
The A1 side has advanced to the finals of the Royal Victorian Bowls Association group championship, which will be played at Barham, starting on April 29.
