Skipper Graham Fawcett, Mick Carmody, Colin Barton and Keith Ballard won Thursday night’s fours final at Bendigo Bowls Club.
Fawcett’s crew defeated Racecourse Swan Hill’s Ray Halligan 5-1 in the five-end grand final.
Fawcett and Halligan both scored impressive wins in the semi-finals, but it was Fawcett who had the better of the decider.
The Melton team skippered by Michael O’Brien won the APIA Pot of Gold, which is awarded for the best individual winning margin in any sectional game across the week.
O’Brien’s team won a fours match 32-4 to score the highest winning margin of the week.
Despite the bushfires in south-west Victoria causing late cancellations, the carnival attracted hundreds of bowlers from across the state.
