Maserati Owners Club of Australia president John Gove said it was the first ever global gathering for Maserati owners worldwide.
“Maserati make wonderful cars,” Mr Gove said.
“They are designed for use. They are a much more usable car than most of the Italian exotica.
“Maserati has been operating for 103 years but this is the first gathering for club members globally and it is here in Australia which is great.”
The gathering involves a five day 1500 km trip which started in Torquay with a drive along the Great Ocean Road before heading inland up through the Goldfields to Bendigo.
The group will trace their way through Victoria up to Canberra before finishing with a ‘grand finale’ at the Sydney Opera House.
Car owners from the United Kingdom, United States, France, Italy, Norway, South Africa, Hong Kong, New Zealand and Australia are involved in the gathering.
There are 47 cars in total that are part of the gathering.
